Hunter Trials and Competitions......
The new 2016 season is well under way. The first Hunter Trial of the year held on 13 March was so popular we had to close entries early. This was followed by an extremely busy Fun Ride on Easter Monday.
Unfortunately the weather got the better of us for our next Hunter Trial on 10 April, and in the interests of horse and rider we reluctantly had to cancel. However entries can be transferred to the next competition on 1st May.
Deer Park remains open, weather permitting, for schooling sessions over our new and improved jumps. At £20.00 per horse for unlimited time its a bargain!
New Mini XC Course!
We have been very busy building a brand new mini course (up to 2ft) aimed at building confidence and gaining competition experience for riders of any age who are not ready to be set free on the main course!
The mini course route is a mainly enclosed circuit through two fields with approx 18 varied fences.
Our first Mini & Novice Hunter Trials on Thursday 28th May 2015 was very sucessful, especially the classes just for nervous /novice adults.
The next mini competition will be in 2016, date tbc, and will offer classes for adults, aswell as juniors plus a fun pairs class!
Eventer Challenges
The Eventer Challenges held in June and July 2015 were a big success, with competitors coming from all over the region. We had mixed weather conditions, wet and foggy in June and very hot in July but this simply added to the "challenge" experience!
How it worked - Each rider jumped a course of 8 - 10 showjumps in the grass arena then continued on to jump 5-7 timed xc fences finishing back in the show jumping arena. Classes started at 60cms (approx 2ft) and were split into junior and senior sections with the aim of gaining experience and having fun in a relaxed and encouraging environment.
